I know I haven’t done a Boxycharm post on the blog for a while! I don’t know if you feel the same way but with subscription services, I feel it gets a bit monotonous with time. Having said that, I still think that Boxycharm is definitely one of the best beauty subscription services out there. You pay $21 per month + $5 for shipping to Canada (ships free to U.S.) which works out to about $34 CAD monthly. Recently, they have been adding more interesting brands in to the mix which is making the service worthwhile. So, let’s get into the September Boxycharm Unboxing 2017.
The theme this month is “Boxy Baddie”. I couldn’t hold myself from looking into the spoilers, so what came in the box was no surprise to me. The September Boxycharm came with 5 full size products and 1 travel size. Here is a low down on each item.
Soiree Diaries Eyeshadow Palette ($34.00) – This palette is from the brand PUR cosmetics. I have tried a few products from the line from previous Boxycharms. The palette features amazing warm toned everyday shades. I am obsessed with the marble design and rose gold writing on the palette. There are 12 shades in the palette, with 8 mattes and 4 shimmery shadows. They are highly pigmented and smooth shadows. It makes a good palette for travel as it comes with a decent sized mirror inside. Check out the swatches below!
Eyebrows by MAC Cosmetics ($18.00) – It was definitely a surprise to see MAC cosmetics in the box! I never thought I would see MAC products. I received the shade Spiked which is a good match. It goes on smooth but it lacks a spoolie on the other end which I need for sure! Also, the pencil is propel only. If you wind up too much product, it does not go back in.
Ultra Satin Lip by Colourpop ($6.00) – I have not tried the Ultra Satin lips by Colourpop but the pigmentation is amazing and it goes on smooth. I think, “Little Stitious” is not a flattering shade for all skin tones. It is pretty cool toned, so I wish there was a different shade in the box.
Loose Blush by Studio Makeup ($35.00) – I have never owned a loose blush before. You can work with loose powder but loose blush can become messy. However, the sifter inside can be turned around to secure the product from getting wasted. I think the colour looks bright, but it goes on subtle and can be layered on for more intensity.
Face Perfecting Brush by Bare Minerals (@28.00) – This brush is usually suitable for foundation application. It has a dip in the center which holds the foundation which is pretty unique. I like the size of the brush, especially for travel. The bristles are very soft but I feel like the application is a bit streaky. I still prefer my beauty blender over this brush.
Don’t Despair Repair Deep Conditioning Mask ($20.00) – I have used and loved all the hair products from Briogeo, all thanks to Boxycharm. This one is pretty great too! I used it in the shower a few times after shampooing. It leaves my hair really soft and conditioned. This travel size comes in handy and I prefer this packaging over the full size that comes in a pot.
What did I like the most from the September Boxycharm? Definitely the Soiree Diaries Eyeshadow Palette and the Deep Conditioning Mask from Briogeo. I know I will be using those very often. Also, if you have not tried Boxycharm yet, I would really appreciate if you could use my referral link! (It will only get me some points).
